When I was diagnosed with lung cancer, someone recommended that I see Dr. Dalesandro. We talked about lung surgery, but I decided to decline surgery and opt for quality of life for however long I had. I took a note to Dr. Dalesandro explaining this and before I was out the door, she called me back to her office and said, “I will not make a pulmonary cripple of you.”

I was impressed with her and with her dedication, her knowledge and her understanding. I was in the hospital for five weeks after the surgery, and she was there everyday I was awake. I can’t verbalize my gratitude for Dr. Dalesandro.

I left the hospital on August 7. I had lost 20 lbs., which I have started to gain back. I am not where I want to be, but I am not where I was, and I owe a lot of that to Dr. Dalesandro.
