Denise Kuykendall

I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2002. Dr. Ramirez told me I needed surgery right away, which I had at Maryview. The caregivers here were wonderful to me. I began my chemotherapy and radiation treatments after that. Dr. Roman was my radiation doctor; I finished those treatments in June of 2003. Dr. Atienza gave me chemotherapy, which I finished on my birthday, July 3 of 2003.

Dr. Ramirez and his staff were wonderful to me. I feel like I owe them my life. The nurses at the hospital treated me with great care. I have great respect for them. They were wonderful to my family and me. The radiation and chemo staff were also wonderful. When you’re in a situation where your modesty is out the door, it can be very difficult. They were very conscious of that.

I feel like I owe all the doctors and nurses my life, especially Dr. Ramirez. They were all so wonderful to me.
