At Bon Secours, our physical therapists can start you on the path to recovery within hours of an operation. With offices on our various hospital campuses, we have premier inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services available. After an orthopaedic procedure, our rehab and physical therapy specialists provide a combination of services that help patients increase their strength and mobility, while minimizing pain and discomfort, during their recovery from a procedure.
Immediately after surgery, you are taken to a post-surgical unit where your progress is monitored by nurses skilled in assisting orthopaedic patients. Depending on your procedure, you may be visited by a physical therapist who will assist you with the first exercise after surgery.
Bon Secours Skilled Nursing Centers
Depending on the procedure you’re recovering from, your orthopaedic surgeon may require that you continue your rehabilitation in one of our skilled nursing facilities, where you’ll recuperate under the guidance of nursing staff, with physical therapy and occupational therapy provided as needed.
