Robert F Dunton, MD Cardiothoracic Surgery
Dr. Dunton is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon. Prior to joining Bon Secours, he had been a cardiothoracic surgeon at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Concord, N.H. since 2001. He has served as the medical coordinator of the Concord Hospital Open Heart Program and as an assistant professor of surgery at Dartmouth Medical School. He has been involved in academic activities at Northeastern University Perfusion Training Program and research activities for the Northern New England Cardiovascular Disease Study Group.
Dr. Dunton received a Bachelor’s degree in biology from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. He did a general surgery internship and residency at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Conn., where he received the Upjohn Outstanding Intern Award. He was a senior resident in cardiac surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital and completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Dr. Dunton has also earned a Master's degree in Bioethics from the Union Graduate College and the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY.
He has co-authored and published numerous articles and has presented papers to many surgical societies. He has been a member of the American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular Surgery and Anesthesia since 2004. Dr. Dunton is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Chest Surgeons and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
Dr. Stark is a graduate of Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his internship and residency at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and returned to Boston where he completed a fellowship at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Stark is board certified in internal medicine and oncology and is the Medical Director of the Cancer Program at Maryview. His practice is located in Suffolk, Virginia.
Vandana A Patel, MD Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases
Dr. Patel earned her MD at Maharajah Sayajirao University of Baroda in India. She served her internship and residency at Woodhull Medical Center in New York and completed a fellowship at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. Dr. Patel is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary diseases. She practices with Portsmouth Pulmonary Associates in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Carlos A Silva, MD Critical Care Medicine
Dr. Silva graduated from the National Autonomous University in Nicaragua and completed his internship and residency at The Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens (an affiliate of Cornell University). He also completed a fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Silva is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Geriatrics.. He has been a member of the American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular Surgery and Anesthesia since 2004. Dr. Sinesi graduated from Brown University in Providence Rhode Island before attending Boston University Medical School where he graduated in 1982. He completed his residency training in radiation oncology at the M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute. Dr. Sinesi is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
Dr. Judith Blevins is the radiation oncologist at the Martha Davis Cancer Treatment Center at Maryview Medical Center. Entering med school in her mid 30s (“dreams vs insanity”) with a husband and 3 school aged children, she graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School, then completed residency in Radiation Oncology there as well. Following that, she continued on at EVMS as an Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology for 3 years. After a short stint practicing in Elizabeth City, Dr. Blevins returned to the area and joined Oncology Associates of VA in 1999; she has been practicing here since.
Dr. McKenzie is a graduate of Eastern Virginia Medical School. She served her internship at Anderson Memorial Hospital in South Carolina and her residency in radiology at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. McKenzie practices with Medical Center Radiologists in Norfolk, Virginia.
