DePaul has made significant
technological and medical advances in patient care, diagnosis
and treatment over the years.

DePaul Hospital has recorded many medical achievements.
The area’s first intensive care and coronary care
units opened at the hospital in the early 1960s. The first
island microvascular flap in the United States was performed
at DePaul Hospital and it was the setting for the area’s
first ankle replacement. By the 1970s, DePaul Medical Center
had established itself as a state of the art 366-bed full-service
hospital, providing a comprehensive array of inpatient and
ambulatory diagnostic and treatment services.
Throughout its long history, DePaul Medical Center has
maintained a strong commitment to meeting the needs of patients
throughout the region by constantly evaluating its services
and programs to ensure that they are
meeting the needs of the community.
