We offer several career tracks for advancement and many exceptional educational opportunities.

Nursing Tracks
Employees may enter nursing through the following tracks:

  • High School Diploma/GED through Certified Nursing Assistant program to RN
  • CNA to LPN or RN
  • High School Diploma/GED through Central Sterile Processing Tech to RN
  • Nursing Student to LPN or RN
  • RN to BSN or Management
Nurse Externship
Students enrolled in an accredited professional nursing program (either AD or BSN) may take advantage of our scholarship program, or work as a Student Nursing Assistant. Depending on the number of hours worked, nurses may receive pre-paid tuition assistance or be eligible for scholarships, in addition to earning a competitive salary. Students must be in good standing and at least in the first semester of their clinical experience. Externs will work with patients in acute care settings at one of three Bon Secours hospitals. Benefits of this program include:
  • Mentoring by a prepared preceptor
  • Opportunities to attend facility programs and in-services
  • Socialization to the healthcare provider role in a supportive, nurturing environment
  • Priority status for employment application after graduation
  • Salary advancement with employment in the program
  • Interaction with facility/system educators
  • Opportunity to expand role by attending computer classes
  • Opportunities to work in various specialties during training
CNA Program
High school graduates, or those with a GED, and other non-licensed health care workers may be eligible to enroll in Bon Secours' Nurses Aide Training Program. The fee for this State Board-approved, six-week course includes training costs, CPR fees, book rentals, and fee for transportation to clinical experiences.

Nurse Internships
Our comprehensive orientation promotes employee success. Bon Secours provides an education liaison, classes, clinical orientation, individual preceptor, and charge nurse training.

Graduate nurses or RNs interested in changing their area of specialty may take advantage of four specialty tracks. These programs are available for new graduates and include classroom instruction, clinical rotation supervised by a preceptor and professional growth classes offered by our educational specialists. Currently, programs are available in:

  • Telemetry
  • Medical-Surgical Nursing
  • Perioperative Nursing
  • Critical Care Nursing
  • Emergency Care

Educational Tracks
We offer opportunities for professional growth for RNs, graduating nurses, or other health care workers through scholarships, pre-paid tuition, and tuition assistance programs. Full and part-time employees may be eligible for tuition assistance of up to $2,000 annually. Scholarships of up to $3,000 annually are available to nursing students enrolled in a professional nursing program. Educational opportunities exist to begin your career in an area of specialty or change your specialty in Nursing.

Bon Secours takes special pride in the opportunities for promotion from within. To enhance your professional growth, development courses are offered for:
