Meet Our Team - John Artrip,
MD
Cardiovascular Surgeon
Bon Secours Heart Institute
John Henry Artrip, M.D., brings additional expertise to the cardiac
surgery team of the Bon Secours Heart Institute. Dr. Artrip received his bachelor's degree from Amherst College, Amherst, Mass., and his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit.
Most recently, Dr. Artrip was a clinical fellow, congenital heart surgery at Denver Children's Hospital. Prior to that, he worked at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Center as a clinical fellow in heart transplantation and ventricular assist devices, as well as cardiothoracic surgery, and electrophysiology and pacing.
Dr. Artrip also worked in New York at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital as clinical fellow, thoracic surgery. He was chief resident in general surgery at Bellevue Hospital/Manhattan V.A. Hospital, N.Y., and categorical general surgery resident at New York University in the department of surgery.
He has co-authored numerous original publications, review articles and book chapters, and is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Medical Association, as well as an associate member of American College of Surgeons.
