Our partnership with Columbia University brings clinical innovations and new technologies to Hampton Roads. Patients can receive the latest treatments in heart care and access promising new treatments through clinical trials. Bon Secours physicians can consult with heart experts and share best practices. Eric A. Rose, M.D., of Columbia University, will serve as clinical director of the Bon Secours Heart Institute, providing a direct link to Columbia's resources for quality review, clinical practice guidelines and ongoing staff development. Dr. Rose's colleague, Craig Smith, M.D., who was the surgeon of choice when President Clinton needed bypass surgery, will serve as Columbia's liaison with the Bon Secours Heart Institute Medical Director, Joseph S. Auteri, M.D
