Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center cancer conferences
Continuing Medical Education (CME) is a vital part of any
medical professional’s growth. For this reason, Bon
Secours Maryview Medical Center holds weekly cancer conferences,
during which a multi-disciplinary Tumor Board discusses ways
to improve patient care and treatment management. These conferences
are held at Bon Secours Maryview every Friday from 8:00a.m.-9:00a.m.
to provide educational opportunities for physicians and staff.
Each cancer conference features a physician or group of
physicians that present cases of interest with relevant pathological
and radiological elements. Once the presentation is completed,
the group participates in an open discussion about the diagnosis,
treatment and outcome of the case. This sharing of information
and ideas is crucial to developing new and improved ways of
providing care to our patients.
The Cancer Conference meets the approved standards of The
American College of Surgeons. Physicians receive one category
I CME credit for each conference in which they participate.
