Junior Volunteer Program at DePaul Medical Center
Volunteering is a serious commitment of time and energy at the Junior
Volunteer Program at DePaul Medical Center. Our program offers teens
an opportunity to engage in a service project that is both rewarding and
educational.
The Administration and staff of DePaul consider
Junior Volunteers a valuable resource and an asset to our job of caring
for the sick and suffering. Our Junior Volunteers play a very important
part in supporting our mission, which is "Good Help To Those In Need."
For that reason, a Junior Volunteer at DePaul is expected to be the
kind of person who has the desire to be of service to others, shows
compassion for others, and shows patience in all situations.
how do I apply?
We are no longer accepting applications for the 2012 program. Applications for next year's program will be posted at the beginning of March.
volunteer policies
Our policies, rules, and regulations are in place for many reasons. The welfare of our patients and visitors is our first priority. Some rules are in place to follow hospital policy and some are for your protection and safety while you are at the hospital. Following the rules is important and needs to be taken seriously; violation may result in your being sent home or even terminated from the program. The information located in our Junior Volunteer Handbook (.doc) outlines requirements and policies that will serve as a reference for applicants in preparing for junior volunteer service. We expect volunteers to read the handbook carefully and become familiar with its contents.
If you have any questions about our program or its policies please contact our Volunteer Manager.
