The Bon Secours Heart and Vascular Institute at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center was recognized as a UnitedHealth Premium® cardiac specialty center for Interventional Cardiac Care and received a three out of three star rating.
What does this mean?
This designation means that Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center has met rigorous
quality criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and
expert advice.
What is the selection process?
To be considered for designation as a UnitedHealth Premium® cardiac specialty center, individual facilities must complete a survey and submit outcomes data through the American College of Cardiology (ACC) or the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). The Interventional Cardiac Care department was evaluated in quality matrices that included: mortality and complication rates; access key services like open heart surgery, electrophysiology program, and cardiac imaging. In addition, the evaluation included assessment of the staff providing care, and the complement of the medical center’s attending and admitting medical staff.
